title : Summaries: 150-250
Cornelia went to see Magdelena after the marriage of her brother, her brown ringlets were bouncing while she threaded her way across the cobblestones of the Dame Square. Her shoes were pinching her toes because they were Magdelena's, and they were a size smaller. Magdelena makes Cornelia go to Mijnheer Browers, for the new clothes they were in need of. She was never too fond of the clothes they used to give her.
Tijger was sleeping outside of the Vader's studio, soaking up the sunlight. For twenty nine days in a row, Cornelia had been without Carel. She thought of this as a punishment because the painting that Vader painted after the marriage of Carel was heartbreaking for her to see. She didn't imagine her brother being happy with his wife and children without her. He forgot Cornelia after he had gotten the money and the family he had always wanted. It was July 15, Vader's birthday. What more was surprising was that it was two months and ten days after Carel had gone away. Cornelia sat there outside Vader's studio's window, while the linden tree shimmers in a mild breeze that smells of sea. Vader sank into his seat because Cornelia was spending time with Neel and not with him. Neel was telling Cornelia a story, a true tale. For some reason, Neel had lost the interest he had in Cornelia before, after knowing that she was poor. Obviously, that made her sad. The story was about a blacksmith whose name was Quentin Metsys. He was skilled at the anvil, skilled enough to leave his home in Louvain for the big city of Antwerp, where he produced intricate works of iron. The one day, Quentin delivers one of his finely wrought gates to a stately home on the river schelde. And there, he met a beautiful young maiden, who was the daughter of a artist. THE END :)))))) |
